Mangala

Mangala is a strategic board game traditionally played by the Turkish people. The game is played by two players on a board consisting of twelve small pits arranged in two rows of six, along with larger storage pits, or “stores,” where players collect stones during the game. Mangala is played with 48 stones.

The game begins with a draw to determine the starting player. All 48 stones are distributed equally, with four stones placed in each of the twelve small pits, while the storage pits remain empty. The six small pits on a player's side of the board constitute that player's field, while the six pits opposite belong to the opponent. Players take turns moving stones according to the rules of the game, aiming to collect as many stones as possible in their own store. The winner is the player who accumulates the greatest number of stones in their store by the end of the game.
