Hapsagai is a traditional Yakut martial art and a form of national wrestling in which two competitors attempt to throw each other to the ground while avoiding contact with the surface by their knees or any other part of the body. This wrestling style is known for its fast pace and dynamic nature, requiring athletes to demonstrate exceptional speed, strength, agility, and balance. Hapsagai has deep cultural roots and symbolizes courage, skill, and mastery. Today, it remains one of the most popular traditional wrestling disciplines of the Sakha (Yakut) people and is included in the competition program of the World Nomad Games.
