The “Birimdik Kerbeni” project is a national Water Relay highlighting the vital importance of water for the Kyrgyz Republic and its symbolic significance within the World Nomad Games.

For the Kyrgyz people, water has always been a symbol of life, purity, and continuity. Within the concept of the Games, it reflects unity and renewal.

The project covers all regions of the country, showcasing cultural diversity and strengthening the idea of national unity. The “Birimdik Kerbeni” project engages the population in advance in the preparation for the VI World Nomad Games, allowing each region to contribute to this international event.

Project Implementation Stages:

  1. By December 31, 2025, qualifying events will be held in all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, as a result of which the following will be determined:

  • Elchiler — prominent and distinguished representatives of the region who have made a significant contribution to its development;
  • Sacred Source — the most well-known natural source of the region (such as a lake, river, spring, etc.);

Starting from June 2026, ceremonies for filling regional vessels (Kookor) with water from sacred sources, as well as Water Honoring Ceremonies, will be held in each region. Upon completion of the ceremonies, the vessels are placed in Regional Water Storage Facilities, which are opened for visits by residents and guests of the region.

  1. By August 15, 2026, the Baatyrs deliver the regional vessels (Kookor) to the city of Bishkek, where they are placed in the Main Water Storage Facility, which is open to residents and guests of the capital.
