koresh
Koresh is a traditional Tatar belt wrestling style with roots going back to ancient times. Matches are held in a standing position: wrestlers hold special belts and try to throw their opponent onto their back using strength, agility, and technique. Grips below the belt and ground wrestling are not allowed, which makes Koresh a very dynamic and spectacular sport. Koresh holds an important place in Tatar culture and is widely featured at national festivals such as Sabantuy. Today, it has gained international recognition and is practiced in many countries as an independent sport discipline. Koresh combines rich traditions, respect for the opponent, and the spirit of fair competition.
